Magento ERP, PIM and Business System Integration

Connect Magento 2 or Adobe Commerce to the systems that run your business. We build reliable integrations with ERP, PIM, CRM, WMS, accounting and marketplace platforms, so products, stock, prices, customers and orders stay in sync without manual work.

Manual Data Entry Does Not Scale

As order volume grows, copying orders into an ERP, updating stock from spreadsheets or maintaining prices in two places becomes slow and error-prone. Overselling, wrong prices and delayed dispatch cost money and customer trust.

A good integration makes one system the source of truth for each type of data — the ERP for stock and prices, the PIM for product content, Magento for orders — and moves data reliably between them. It handles failures, retries and partial updates, and it tells you when something needs attention.

We design integrations around Magento's service contracts, REST and GraphQL APIs and asynchronous message queues, so large syncs do not slow the storefront and upgrades stay manageable.

Data we typically synchronise
  • ✓Products — Attributes, categories, images and translations from a PIM
  • ✓Stock — Multi-warehouse quantities with Magento MSI sources
  • ✓Prices — List, tier, customer group and customer-specific prices
  • ✓Customers — Accounts, B2B companies and credit limits
  • ✓Orders — New orders out; status, shipments and invoices back
  • ✓Returns — RMA and credit notes between systems

Real-Time, Scheduled or Event-Driven?

Scheduled sync runs on a timetable — for example, prices every hour and a full stock reconciliation each night. It is simple and robust, and suits data that changes predictably.

Event-driven sync reacts to changes as they happen. When an order is placed, Magento publishes a message to a queue and a consumer sends it to the ERP. When stock changes in the ERP, a webhook updates Magento. This keeps systems close to real time without blocking customers.

Real-time lookups call the ERP during a customer request, for example to show a contract price at checkout. They are useful but risky: if the ERP is slow or offline, so is your store. We use them sparingly, with short timeouts, caching and a fallback.

Most integrations combine all three. The data mapping document we agree at the start records which approach applies to each data type, the source of truth, the frequency and how errors are handled.

Reliable by Design

Integrations fail in ways that are hard to see. We build them so failures are visible and recoverable.

📨

Asynchronous processing

Large or slow operations run through Magento's message queue (RabbitMQ or the database queue), so customers never wait for an ERP response.

🔁

Idempotent and retryable

Every message can be safely retried, duplicates are detected and failed items are queued for retry rather than lost.

📋

Logging and alerts

Each sync records what was sent, received and changed. Repeated failures trigger alerts to the right people.

🧩

Upgrade-safe code

Integrations use service contracts and plugins, never core changes, so Magento upgrades do not break them.

How an Integration Project Runs

Most integrations take four to ten weeks depending on the systems and data involved.

Discovery and mapping

We document data flows, sources of truth, frequencies, volumes and every field mapping.

Architecture

We choose real-time, scheduled or event-driven sync, and custom connector or middleware.

Build and unit test

Connectors, queues, mappings and admin tools are developed with automated tests.

End-to-end testing

Data flows are tested with realistic volumes and edge cases in staging and the other system's sandbox.

Go-live and monitoring

Initial data load, cutover, then monitoring and tuning during the first weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Middleware suits multi-system landscapes and teams that want visual mapping. A custom connector can be simpler and cheaper for one or two systems. We recommend based on your volumes, systems and budget.
Yes, using webhooks or frequent incremental syncs. For high volumes we combine near real-time updates with periodic full reconciliation.
No. Imports and exports run in the background through message queues and cron, not during customer requests.
Yes, if it provides an API, database access or file exchange such as CSV or XML over SFTP.
Yes, including customer-specific prices, tier prices and shared catalogs in Adobe Commerce B2B.
