Move your store to Magento 2.4.9 from Magento 1, WooCommerce, Shopify, OpenCart, PrestaShop or a custom system. We migrate products, customers, orders and content, rebuild the features you rely on, and protect your search rankings with complete URL mapping and redirects. Already on Magento 2? See our Magento 2 upgrade service.
Magento 1 reached end of life in June 2020 and no longer receives official security patches, which makes it a compliance and security risk for any store taking payments. Other merchants come to Magento 2 from WooCommerce or Shopify because they need multi-store, B2B pricing, complex catalogues or more control over their platform.
A migration has three parts: data (products, categories, customers, orders, reviews and content), functionality (extensions, customisations and integrations rebuilt for Magento 2) and search visibility (URLs, metadata and redirects). Most migration problems come from treating it as only the first part.
For Magento 1 we use Adobe's Data Migration Tool with custom mapping where needed. For other platforms we write import scripts against their APIs or exports. Every migration is rehearsed, reconciled and repeated with a final delta before go-live.
Each source platform has its own data model and quirks. We have handled them before.
Settings, data and delta migration with the Data Migration Tool, plus rebuilt extensions and a new Hyvä or Luma theme.
Products with variations, customers, orders and blog content moved from WordPress and WooCommerce.
Products, variants, collections, customers and orders migrated through the Shopify Admin API.
Migrations from OpenCart, PrestaShop, osCommerce, BigCommerce and custom systems.
Where the source hash algorithm allows, customers keep their passwords; otherwise we set up a smooth reset journey.
Full crawl of the old site, URL mapping, 301 redirects, metadata transfer and post-launch monitoring.
Magento 2 is a different application, not an upgrade of Magento 1. The database structure, module system, theme system and APIs all changed. Data can be moved with Adobe's Data Migration Tool, but themes and extensions must be rebuilt or replaced.
The Data Migration Tool runs in three modes: settings (configuration and websites), data (catalogue, customers, orders, CMS and more) and delta (changes made in Magento 1 since the last run). Delta mode is what makes a short cutover possible: we migrate everything in advance, then move only the latest orders and customers during the final freeze.
Custom tables and extension data need mapping files, and some data — such as third-party module records — may need custom import scripts. We list every source table during discovery so nothing is missed.
Because a new theme is needed anyway, most Magento 1 merchants now launch Magento 2 directly on Hyvä rather than building a Luma theme first.
The two things merchants fear most are lost data and lost rankings. Our process is designed around both.
Record counts and spot checks for every entity after each test migration, signed off by you.
At least one full rehearsal of the go-live sequence, so the real cutover is predictable and short.
Every indexed URL is mapped to its new equivalent, and redirects are tested before launch.
We use the migration to remove old workarounds and unused features rather than copying them.
Your current store keeps trading until the planned cutover.
Inventory of data, features, extensions, integrations and URLs on the current platform.
Install 2.4.9, build the theme and rebuild required features and integrations.
Run data migrations to staging, reconcile records and fix mapping issues.
Your team tests the new store; we verify redirects, metadata and tracking.
Freeze, final delta migration, DNS switch and close monitoring after launch.
Tell us your current platform, catalogue size, order volume and key integrations. We will outline the migration approach, timeline and estimate.
